As announced earlier this year at the annual E3 conference (the biggest games expo of the year) Nintendo have now confirmed a release date for the Wii Fit Plus the follow-up to the worldwide smash Wii Fit as the 30th of October 2009.
It was pretty much inevitable that Nintendo would look to release another Wii Fit game sooner or later, as the original Wii fit is the third best-selling console/handheld game ever released (sceptics may pick at the fact it is not technically a game but who are we to argue) selling over 21million copies worldwide since its release in December 2007.
So when the Wii Fit Plus was announced it seems Nintendo have a sure-fire cash machine in the making.
The new Wii Fit Plus will have all of the features and activities of the original game but will also incorporate 15 new balance games, six new strength training and various new yoga activities. Other new features will include a calorie burning counter, custom fitness regimens and the ability to choose from a number of specialized routines based on specific objectives and available time. And to top it all you will also have the ability to create profiles for pets so you can keep an eye on how much little pickles is weighing.
All this plus new menu layouts to make navigating to exercising quicker and easier things seem to be pointing towards another bumper Christmas for Nintendo.
Nintendo has announced that Wii Fit Plus will hit shelves in the UK on 30 October as a game only and also a version bundled with the Wii Balance Board for new users.
