Samsung’s new line of 3D TVs plus Blu-ray player will hit Blighty’s high streets in sometime in March this year.
Stores in the UK will stock the LED 8 Series and 7 Series 3D TVs as well as the BD-C6900 Blu-ray player.
“3D is not a niche or novelty product for Samsung, that is why we have 20 3D TVs at launch and why we are first to market,” said Samsung spokesperson, Michael Zoller.
Each of the 3D models will come with a built-in Ethernet connection and a USB port that will support an optional dongle, making the TV “wireless-ready”.
Samsung are set to release the LED 9 series and Plasma 7 Series TVs, as well as the HT-C6930W home theatre system later this year.
“The success of recent 3D movie titles is building anticipation from people who want to enjoy the richness of 3D content from the comfort of their living room,” said Samsung’s President of Visual Display Business, BooKeun Yoon.
“We are confident that by being first to market with the best integrated technology and approach, we have the best opportunity to capitalise on the market anticipation and continue to strengthen our leadership in 2010,” he said.
Samsung unveiled its world first in 3D Blu-ray movies at CES this year, with the honour going to Monsters Vs Aliens.
Samsung has been mass producing 3D TVs since January this year in 40 inch, 46 inch and 55 inch screen sizes.
To experience the extra dimension, users will be required to wear active-shutter glasses to experience the 3D effect of the alternatively displayed left and right eye images.
The TV maker has included auto-conversion technology in its 3D processor that renders 2D content into 3D in real time, allowing users to add a new level of depth to live programs.
“Consumers can add a level of depth and clarity to a live football game, with the simple push of a button”, the company says.
