THQ’s annual sport-entertainment-gaming showcase is shaping up once more and WWE ’13 will body-slam onto shelves in the U.K on November the 2nd. This year’s contender is all about the Attitude with much of the extreme action based around the much loved and fondly remembered era of the mid-90s to early-00s when nothing was censored and the World Wrestling Federation (as it was then known) was lead into a ratings battle by the middle-finger flinging, beer-downing champion ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. With this in mind, who better to feature on a special Collector’s Edition of the WWE ’13 game than the ‘Rattlesnake’ himself?
The Gadget Helpline has received the full details and a number of screenshots from the stunning WWE ’13 Austin 3:16 Collector’s Edition which is named after the superstar’s legendary slogan and will be available in the United Kingdom for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 – only through GAME and Gamstation stores while stocks last. This special edition has an ultra-cool foil packaging featuring the iconic Stone Cold skull symbol and in addition to the basic WWE ’13 game that all grapple fans will be playing this autumn, early buyers will also grab themselves some sweet in-game exclusives including a red skull T-shirt as worn by Stone Cold in 2001 and four-wheel ATV ring entrance! And the extras don’t end there..
WHAT? – You ask. That’s right, in addition the in-game bonuses THQ is generously throwing in the recently released ‘Stone Cold Steve Austin: The Bottom Line on the Most Popular Superstar of All Time” DVD set and a collectable art card personally autographed by the WWE Hall of Famer himself – Oh Hell Yeah!
As many fans will no doubt recall, one of Austin’s most memorable Attitude Era moments was when he came to blows with boxing legend Mike Tyson in the build-up to Wrestlemania 14. Tyson himself was also announced as a special downloadable character for WWE ’13 but there was no news of his arrival in the U.K version. With the Austin 3:16 Collector’s Edition gamers will be guaranteed access to the bonus playable character!
WWE ’13 promises a gaming Revolution and will feature greats from the 90s including Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind and the Undertaker as well as modern era superstars such as John Cena, Sheamus and CM Punk – who appears on the cover of the basic edition of new wrestling game which is released in the U.K for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii on November 2nd.
