Freecom Announce World’s First USB 3.0 External Hard Drive

O2 to Launch Palm Pre In The UK on October 16th; Tariffs Same as iPhone

It has been a long time coming but finally the Palm Pre is coming to the UK. We reported back in July that the Palm Pre will be available exclusively on O2 in the UK. At the time of the announcement O2 said that the phone would be available in the UK “in time for the winter holidays.” Now O2 have decided on the launch date, October 16th.

LG Announces the GW620 Android Phone

It looks like LG is going to cover all the bases in it smartphone strategy and has announced a new phone, the GW620, which uses the open source Android solution. This comes just a few days after they announced that it would be introducing three new Windows Mobile smartphones in the next few weeks. The spin that LG is putting on this is that it “underscore LG’s commitment to offering greater consumer choice in the expanding smartphone category.” But it probably means that LG are taking Android for a spin and want to see the consumer reaction.

Nokia N900 – Is it a Smartphone or an Internet Tablet?

Nokia today launched the N900 a Linux based smartphone which offers a PC-like experience on a handset-sized device. The 800×480 3.5″ touch screen device runs the new Maemo 5 software (which is based on Linux) and also includes a slide out QWERTY keyboard as well as built-in 3G and GPS.

Gigabyte Quietly Announces Touchscreen Netbook T1028X

Gigabyte has updated their touchscreen netbook T1028M and called it the T1028X. Most of the changes are performance related. In short the T1028X has a better CPU and a better display.
