[tab name=’News’]

If you happen to be a keen home cinema enthusiast, you may want to check out this new projector from Sony.

Sony over the years have always been on the ball when it comes to home entertainment, and although their new projector may be a bit over-the-top for most, anyone who loves the home cinema experience will definitely want to get their hands on the new VPL-VW1000ES. Sony actually announced this new projector towards the end of last year, and now a few months on, it will be available in shops within weeks.

This super high-definition projector is the first on the market for home use that features 4K resolution at 4096 x 2160. Sony say that the resolution allows viewers to sit close to the screen while maintaining impeccable picture quality, within the distance of three times the height of the picture.

The VPL-VW1000ES produces 2000 ANSI-lumens of brightness along with a very impressive 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The projector also features a 2.1 motorised zoom that allows it to project images from 60 to 300 diagonal inches in size and will be supplied with a 330W bulb which has an expected life span of between 2,000 and 2,500 hours.

Also, as you’d probably expect from a projector such as this, it also supports 3D content using active-shutter 3D glasses. When looking at connectivity, the VPL-VW1000ES features two HDMI inputs, an analogue component connection, mini D-sub port and finally an Ethernet connection as well.

So, if this sounds like your ideal projector, you should be able to get your hands on one very soon, although be prepared to part with around $26,000 when it finally reaches your local electronics store.
