Sony PSP Go Leaked: 16 GB Flash Storage

The latest installment into Sony’s PSP family has been leaked by none other than Sony themselves in a poorly timed June edition of its Qore online magazine. The PSP Go is expected to be officially announced at next week’s E3 gaming convention in Los Angeles.pspgo

Upon initial inspection, the PSP Go is a slider-device and will also have Bluetooth connectivity.

It will come with 16GB of flash memory which replaces the UMD drive of ye olde PSP. Seeing as Sony have made this leap, it is expected that there will be a memory card slot to give the option of increasing your 16GB into something mega.

Control-wise, the old single analog joystick remains with other buttons positioned under the screen instead of either side of it.

The design of the new PSP Go is a bit more rounded along the edges, and should be a bit more compact as you would expect from a postable gaming device. The aesthetics of the control panel aren’t amazing, but everything looks like it’s been placed in a position that makes game-play nice and easy.

Just because there’s anew kid on the block, it doesn’t mean that the old PSP will be relocated to the bargain bins in shops, as Sony plan to sell both consoles side-by-side.

It will be interesting to hear the official blurb on the PSP Go and to see how much it costs in comparison to the old model, as Sony are obviously aiming at two different markets with its PSPs.

The PSP Go is expected to hit stores in Autumn.
