Whilst on holiday abroad last week one of our editors Apple iPhone 3Gs crashed and had the black screen of death- After a bit of fiddling and a lot of cussing at the apparent dead iPhone, we discovered that a simple reset can solve the issue. This helpful tip will save you going down a lengthy and perhaps costly repair process.
This reset will not delete any Data, Music, Messages or even Settings on the phone it will simply restart the handset.
To reset:
Press and hold the Menu button and the Sleep button for 10 seconds until the Apple Logo comes up on the screen.
This will reset local settings and restart it.
As with all technology sometimes it can be temperamental, and as much as Apple would like you to believe otherwise the iPhone (or the iPod touch’s) are not exempt from this rule.
So occasionally when your having issues with your mobile phone its a good idea to perform a quick reset to start your iPhone off on a fresh start for the day.

Thank you
Hi Mary,
If this is still not working then just place the iPhone on charge for a good time then try again.
If still no Joy then once charged connect the iPhone to your itunes account and you should see and updater kick in that will re-flash your phone.
