Just a few days ago we told you about two unknown Sony Xperia handsets that appeared in a group shot along with other handsets from the Xperia range. Well, just a few days later, we’ve now been treated to a much better image of one of these new handsets – the ST25i codenamed Kumquat.
As you can see from the image below, this is what the Xperia ST25i is believed to look like, and yes, it does indeed look very similar to the recently announced Xperia S. I’d expect that Sony will probably keep the overall design of these new Xperia handsets pretty much the same but with subtle differences between them; it wont be the first time they’ve released a handset that looked similar if not identical to another.
Although the Kumquat looks very similar to the flagship Xperia S, rumour suggests that it’s actually a toned down version in regards to the technical specs. It’s thought that the Android powered smartphone will have a dual-core CPU clocked at 1Ghz, along with a 5MP camera and also a 3.5-inch screen with FWVGA resolution.
As we’ve mentioned before, we’d expect to see this new handset (and perhaps at least one other) in all its glory later next month at the MWC in Barcelona.
Remember we’ll be covering the events of this year’s MWC , so as soon as we get any more info about the ST25i, you can be assured we’ll let you know.
