Nokia Pureview 808: 41-Megapixel Camera Phone U.K Shipping Delayed Till Mid July

There’s some disappointing news about the Nokia Pureview 808, that impressive 41-megapixel camera phone which the Gadget Helpline and many of our fellow news sources have been raving about since its made its debut at the Mobile World Congress back in February. Sadly, due to unexplained reasons it’s being reported that the Pureview 808, which runs Nokia’s own Symbian mobile operating system, has been delayed ahead of its U.K shipping schedule which was originally understood to be late May.

Retailer Clove is the one breaking the news that stocks for the Nokia Pureview are being held back and won’t being shipping the £504 SIM-free gadget on it’s expected public release date following a first appearance in Russia, with order page for the handset stating in a newly added section – “Official availability to be confirmed” and “First stock delayed until mid-late July.”

Here’s yet another disapointment for us mobile fans who in the past few weeks have been left confused over the arrival of another Nokia model, the Lumia 900 – as well as the confirmation that the highly-anitcipated Samsung Galaxy SIII in Pebble Blue will not be available until two to three week’s time, with Marble White edition arriving late, but shipping only two days after the expected May 30th date.

MWC’s Best New Smartphone, the Nokia Pureview 808 boasts an insane 41-megapixel shooter, which features Carl Zeiss lens (often used for microscopy) and a 4X “lossless zoom” that we imagine could pick up a flea on a dog’s back from 20 paces. The 808 also will eventually come with Full HD 1080p quality video and CD quality sound recording.
