Nokia has just announced their new smartphone called the Nokia C5. The Nokia C5 is the first phone of many which will represent the new series of phones called the Nokia CSeries. This adds to the Nokia ‘series’ family which includes the Nseries, Xseries and Eseries devices.
Compared the higher end Nseries and Xseries handsets, the Cseries is what we would class as Nokia’s core product range. The NSeries is said to be the most advanced range of products, followed by the Xseries which focuses on media entertainment. The Eseries is focused is more on businesses and the Cseries is meant to represent the Classic (C) of the Nokia range.
The C5 will run on what is called the S60 3rd Edition Symbian Operating System and comes with the 2.2 inch display and 3.2 megapixel camera. Software wise it comes pre-installed with Ovi Maps allowing free navigation in a number of countries and around the globe. A stereo FM radio and 3.5mm AV connector, and stereo speaker completes the package.
Measuring 12m x 46 x 112mm high the small handset will come with a battery life of up to 12 hours talk time and the promise of 26 days on standby between charges.
The phone will be due for launch in Europe in the 2nd quarter of this year costing 135 Euros and we’re guessing at that price, on contract it is likely to be cheaper or if not free.
