Nintendo DS Version 2 Rumours

A few weeks back there were rumours during the Annual Japan Media Arts Festival, in which Mario Creator, Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned something about Nintendo’s next hardware release, which made the tech world assume that we could be looking at a new upgraded Wii console.

However, it has come to light that we will not be actually seeing an upgraded Wii console but we could be looking at a sequel to the Nintendo DS. The speculation has surfaced after third party developers have claim that a number of Japanese firms have already received their early developer’s kits.

Gaming website, CVG have revealed that the biggest firm working with the device is The Pokeman Company who is the first company to be offered the developers kit.

Also CVG insider at a third party studio currently playing with DS2 was very impressed with it and in particular revealed that the new Nintendo DS will come with an advanced tilt sensor, similar to the one which can be found on the iPhone. He quoted:

“It’s genuinely the best thing I think I’ve ever worked with,” he said. “I can tell you that it’s got a ’tilt’ function that’s not dissimilar to iPhone, but does a lot more. We know that The Pokemon Company are getting special attention with it.”

Although Nintendo failed to comment on the ‘rumours and speculations’ it will be interesting to hear more about the advanced tilt sensor and more features which are expected for the Nintendo DS Version 2.
