New MSI Wind U110 ECO With 15+ Hours Battery Life

MSI Wind U110 ECOOne of the great things about netbooks when compared to traditional laptops is the battery life. Since a netbook uses a lower performance CPU it means that less power is needed to drive the CPU and so the battery life is extended. MSI who have had good success in the netbook market with their Wind range have added a new model, one that is designed for  maximum battery life.

The new Wind U110 ECO weighs under 1.5Kg and features 1.60GHz Intel processor, a 160GB HDD and if you have the 9 cell battery you get 15+ hours of usage. As well as having great battery life the U110 ECO is quite thin. It measures just a little over 3 centimetres at its widest point.

This  ultra mobile U110 features a 10” 1024×600 backlit LCD, a high definition (1.3 megapixel) web cam, 2 speakers and a built-in mic. On the memory front it comes with the fairly standard 1GB and at the moment ships with Windows XP or Windows Vista Home Basic. It will support Windows 7 when it comes out in less than a month.

On the connectivity front it comes with wired Ethernet, wireless (b, g and the newly ratified faster n standard) and bluetooth.

The netbook market is full to bursting at the moment with every major laptop manufacturer selling netbook models, but the long battery life and the wireless n support could make the MSI Wind U110 ECO a real winner. This model has just been announced in the USA with a retail price of around $400. It is expected in the UK soon but there is no word on pricing yet.
