New Eee PC Range Released by Asus

Asus has made an impression at this year’s CeBIT Exhibition in Germany, launching a range of new products including its fourth generation Eee PCs.

The Eee PC 1201PN kicks-off the new range, coming with a high resolution 12.1 inch screen with 1366 x 768 pixels.

The netbook can automatically swap between dedicated and discrete and graphics, which allows users to make the most of high performance, graphically intensive applications, while resorting to battery-saving settings during normal use.

The 1201PN comes with a gigabyte of RAM as well as a 160GB hard drive.

Also adding to the range is the 1018P Eee PC, which Asus chairman Jonney Shih describes as “the ultimate thin and light device”.

The 1018P is high-tech, supporting USB 3.0 and featuring an extra secure fingerprint reader, which doesn’t usually feature in netbooks.

Being a premium netbook, the 1018P has a light weight aluminium case and comes in four different colours.

It has a 10.1 inch display and is only 18mm thick, making it the thinnest Eee PC ever produced by the Taiwanese manufacturer.

With lightning quick transfer speeds of 4.8GBPS, the 1018P also boasts 14 hours of battery life.

Alongside these new releases is the Eee PC 1015P and the 1016P, which have slightly lower specs but will be priced more attractively.

The 1015P is an update to the Eee PC Seashell range and again comes with a 14 hour battery life, and the battery itself is removable.

The Asus Eee PC Diary 1016P is aimed for use on the road, with an integrated touch-pad in the palm-rest. It also features the very classy Aluminium casing.

The new Eee PC range is due to hit the shops mid-this year.
