Motorola Xoom now has UK release date, pre-orders started

PC World were first out of the blocks to list a UK pricing for the Motorola Xoom tablet, just 2 days ago. The pre-order button was there but as hard as we tried, nothing happened when we clicked it.

Today pre-orders have gone live at PC World, and their sister company Currys. PC World have the Xoom down as being shipped on the 9th April, though they do also state that it is due for release during the first week of April, with an exact date TBC.

PC World are claiming that if you pre-order with them, you’ll be the first in Europe to receive one. We’ll be putting our names down on the pre-order list, will you?

Yay! :D The XOOM looks considerably better than the new iPad :)

I have pre-ordered the 3G from CW – do it through TopCashback and you get £30 back :)

I find it strange that the Xoom is being released (next week?). Which idiot thought lets create a demand but not confirm to people an exact date and exact amount. So far there is speculation from “good sources” that it will be £479.99 and shipped in April.

It is no wonder the iPad does so well. At least Apple are on the ball in confirming shipping of SKU’s. Motorola seem to be winging it and as such have a product that is wrongly priced in a market that is already Apple crazy. Perhaps their marketing department need a lesson – in… marketing!

We also thought it strange that there hasn’t been an official date set Jason!Apple seem to do well by setting an exact release date and time and whipping up plenty of hype ahead of a product release! Take note, Moto
