Kick-off Time for Sky Sports News App on Apple’s iPad

Sky has kicked-off its refreshed Sky Sports News app, upping the standard from the previous iPhone-designed app, optimising the interface and video playback for the tablet’s generous 10” display.

The latest app follows the familiar design and similar stylishly uniformed look as 2011’s Sky News app for the popular slab as well as features on the TV based Sky interactive. The app delivers dedicated footy, rugby, motorsports and more updates, as well as transfer news and exclusive clips from across the Sky Sports family of channels. The interface can be customised, so if like me you don’t like cricket you can tailor your front page to bring up only the sports you follow. Sky claims: “We aim to be the ultimate sports news service for our customers, and thanks to this new app we can provide them with the latest sports news and in-depth coverage, wherever they happen to be.”

The Sky Sport News app can be obtained from Apple’s iTunes App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch from today and is free for existing Sky Sports subscribers. If you aren’t already on the ball, it’ll only cost you £4.99 a month to keep up-to-date with your daily fixtures.
