iPhone 5 Will be Wider, Slimmer and Have Bigger Home Button

As October draws nearer, the iPhone 5 rumour mill has really started to take it up a gear. Case designs and Screen Protectors for the next Apple gadget have leaked online, giving us a good idea what it might look like.

First up is the trio of iPhone 5 case designs (above) from premium case maker Casemate. The company claims to have insider info, which points towards a rather radical redesign with the next iPhone, and have posted a selection of case designs on their site to suit.

Interestingly the page has since been taken down, but the case designs have been captured and viewed by many an Apple fanboy already. The cases would indicate a wider, slimmer design with curved sides and a larger home button. The volume buttons appear to have changed to those used on the most recent iPod Touch. In fact, the whole design looks very similar to the fourth generation iTouch.

We’ve also found pictures of what is supposedly a screen protector for the iPhone 5. This little accessory backs up the design used in the Casemate products – same larger home button, wider case and slightly longer than the iPhone 4 when compared. Check it out below.

We’re expecting more and more information to flood in on the iPhone 5 as the supposed release date of October 15th draws nearer. Interestingly, we spoke to O2 UK earlier this evening and were told they expect the release date to be October 7th. Interesting..

Do you like the design of the iPhone 5 in the Casemate renders? Let us know what you think, and if there’s anything you would change.
