Microsoft may have only revealed Windows Phone 8 yesterday, but we’re already learning about new phones in the works from HTC.

Along with Nokia, Huawei and Samsung, HTC was announced yesterday as a key hardware partner for Windows Phone 8. Asides from Nokia and its Lumia range, HTC seems to be the main partner for Microsoft.

The Verge has reportedly received information from one of its creditable sources on all things HTC and Windows Phone. The lowdown is that HTC already has three WP8 devices in the pipeline, catering for entry level, mid-range and the top-end. Here’s what each phone supposedly packs in:

Rio – Entry Level

  • 4-inch WVGA Screen (800 x 480 resolution)
  • 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording
  • 14.4Mbps HSPA
  • 512MB RAM
  • Qualcomm S4 MSM8227 Processor

Accord – Mid-Range

  • 4.3-inch 720p Super LCD 2 Screen
  • 8-megapixel camera with Full HD 1080p video recording
  • 42Mbps HSPA+
  • NFC
  • 1GB RAM
  • Dual-Core Qualcomm Processor (unknown model)

Zenith – Top-End

  • 4.7-inch 720p Super LCD 2 Screen (Similar to One X)
  • Same 8-megapixel camera as the Accord
  • 42Mbps HSPA+
  • Unknown Quad-Core processor from Qualcomm

We can see from the specifications that the Accord and Zenith seem to be like the One X and One S of the Windows Phone world, while the Rio will hit the budget market at a competitive price.

The Verge seems to think that all three phones will launch before the end of the year, which is great news for Windows Phone fans, although not great for those who have just grabbed a Lumia 900 on a two year contract. We can’t wait to get our hands on these!
