A release date and pricing for Google’s first self-branded tablet computer the Nexus 7 has been revealed by U.K gadget retailer Currys.
The Nexus 7 is a seven-inch slate made by ASUS and packs Google’s sweet new operating system update Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The 16GB tablet can now be seen listed on the Currys website with an expected release date of July 19th and costing £199.99 – the pocket-pleasing price we had hoped for. These details are yet to be confirmed by Google itself and as we know from previous highly-anticipated product launches information has on occasion been hastily released by eager retailers looking to grab themselves a share of the early sales!
The Google Nexus 7 was announced last week at the annual I/O Developer’s Conference along with the new Android software update Jelly Bean and will also become available in a half-fat 8GB model which is still awaiting a price. The model posted by Curry’s features a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM. The seven-inch gorilla glass display boasts visuals at a 1280 x 800p high definition and the tablet also features a 1.2-megapixel front camera for video chat.
