RetroN 3
Wow, well this tickles our nerdy bone. We all love retro things and most of us love gaming but its generally pretty hard to search your parent’s attic to drag out your old NES or Sega Megadrive console only to find the 15+ years of neglect and water damage has broken your childhood dream machine.
And in steps the Hyperkin RetroN 3 console, a 3 in 1 retro gaming console that is capable of playing Nintendo, SEGA Megadrive and Super Nintendo cartridges all in one console, and as an added bonus the unit has connections for all of your old controllers from the SNES to the Megadrive.
The RetroN3 is a clone console, which in today’s retro hungry world means it’s in a busy field ever since the copyrights on the technology of old game consoles expired. A raft of these older gaming machine clones have come up but the RetroN 3 is a step above the rest as it’s A) very cool looking, B) is a 3 in One console and C) gives users the ability to use their classic controllers or the provided wireless units.
There are a handful of games that don’t work with the RetroN 3, this is mainly due to either the copyright being intact or special chips who’s patents are still owned by their respective companies, but the console does have an S-Video output cable which although is nowhere near the HD pictures we expect nowadays, is still a huge step up from the original consoles.

The console is available in 2 colours Charcoal Grey or Vector Red and retail at $70 (roughly £45) and is currently only available in the US but can be shipped over to the UK for a small price.
