Facebook Introduce Save – For When Your News Feed Isn’t Enough

Do you ever get sick of filtering through the miles and miles of drivel on your Facebook News Feed, just to find that little nugget of comedy gold you glimpsed earlier but didn’t have time to see the end of? Well, Facebook are introducing a new feature whereby you can save these precious finds for your viewing pleasure later on.

Facebook Save is basically intended to be used as a catch-up service for links, pages, places, movies and TV and will work in the same way as bookmarks do. However, there is a downside; you still have to be connected to the internet to be able to view them, rather than saving the content for offline viewing.

To save something for later viewing, all you need to do is to click the small downward arrow next to the post and select Save. The item will then be saved in its own division in More or the side bar sections of Facebook.

You can also share Saves with your friends if seeing the video of that cat riding a skateboard is too funny for you to keep to yourself. Archiving saves is also an option if you want to keep them for a rainy day.

Facebook software engineer Daniel Giambalvo stated in a blog post: “Every day, people find all sorts of interesting items on Facebook that they don’t have time to explore right away, now you can save items that you find on Facebook to check out later when you have more time.”

The update will be available on Android and iOS within the next few days, so watch out for it!
