These days, budget cameras don’t necessarily mean you have to skimp on quality or features as Casio’s latest releases show.
The point-and-shoot EX-S7 and EX-Z35 cameras are updated versions of last year’s EX-5 and EX-Z33 models.
The S7 offers 12-megapixel resolution and makes use of Casio’s Exilim Engine 5, which enhances image processing quality and extends battery life.
Available in either black or purple, the front of the camera has a 3x f3.1-5.6 36-107mm-equivalent lens, while the back features a 2.7 inch TFT colour LCD screen.
To make the camera user-friendly, there is a one-touch movie record button, allowing you to shoot video clips in up to 720p resolution.
For internet junkies, there is a built-in YouTube Capture Mode, which automatically records and saves movies in the optimal size for uploading onto YouTube.
Casio has also included its Dynamic Photo mode, allowing you to cut people or objects out of a photo and insert them into another. So yes, you can look like you were playing against Everton last week.
The EX-Z35 is also 12-megapixels, and features the same lens and one-touch movie record button as the EX-S7.
It does have a smaller 2.5 inch LCD screen, however has the ability to record movies in wide screen (848×480), or 640×480 / 320×240 pixel resolution.
The Z35 further comes in an array of pretty colours: pink, purple, blue, silver and black, so you can customise your camera to your outfit.
Both cameras are powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery and are SD/SDHC memory card compatible.
They each include an Easy Mode, which simplifies the already simple cameras, to turn the flash on or off, change the image size and select the timer.
Would this camera make you more inclined to upload your creative endeavours to YouTube? Leave us a comment and let us know.
