Apple iPod Touch 5th Gen and iPod Nano 7th gen arriving from October 15th

Apple has reportedly started shipping its new range of iPod devices to stores and customers today, with the new iPod Touch and iPod Nano models looking set to arrive on sale in stores and at customers’ doors from Monday 15th of October.

Devices that have been pre-ordered from Apple.com will reportedly arrive from Monday 15th and stores across the world will be stocking the refreshed line-up of media players shortly after.

Apple announced the new 5th generation iPod Touch device and the 7th generation iPod Nano back in September along with the new iPhone 5, but the company only put a loose ‘October’ release date for both products, with all of their online stores still sticking to this vague shipping time frame.

Additionally, Apple has launched an “iPod touch user guide for iOS 6” online user guide today for eager fans, which shows off some of the new iOS6 features for the 5th gen Touch.

The new iPod Touch is a thinner, lighter device with the same 4-inch Retina Display as the new iPhone 5, plus a dual-core A5 chip and 5 megapixel camera on the back. It’s also running off the new Apple iOS6 software, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity.

On a different note, the new iPod Nano range has been given a full makeover with the media players now having a 2.5-inch touchscreen display which can show up to six apps per page now, plus an FM tuner, Bluetooth and an inbuilt pedometer.

Both devices come with the newly re-designed Apple EarPods headphones (check out our thoughts here) which come with inline volume, mic and remote controls, plus Apple’s new Lightning port adapter, so you may need to update your old iPod accessories or pick up an adapter.

The iPod Touch is available in 32GB and 64GB versions which are priced at £249 and £329 respectively, and you can get them in a range of Black, White, Pink, Blue and Red colours.

The iPod Nano is available in a 16GB version only for £129, but you can get it in a variety of colours including Black, White, Purple, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue and Red.
